JMM candidate K D Singh and Dheeraj Prasad Sahu of Congress were elected to the two Rajya Sabha seats from Jharkhand, for which polling was held on Thursday .
Singh, the chairman of a Delhi-based hospital group, secured 32 votes, while Sahu polled 28, the requisite number of votes needed by a candidate for victory.
BJP's Ajay Maroo could garner only 17 votes and lost. Of the 81 elected MLAs, 79 votes were polled with two votes of CPI(ML-Liberation) MLA Vinod Kumar Singh and BJP legislator Ramchandra Baitha being declared invalid. PTI
