Anantnag: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has ruled out any possibility of joining hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form government in the state.
Speaking to media after addressing an election rally here on Thursday, the Chief Minister said, “It is not possible for the National Conference to join hand with the BJP until they accept the flag of Jammu and Kashmir, Article 370... until they resolve, according to our satisfaction, the contentious issue of Ram Temple and Babri Masjid... until they don't agree to find a solution to the issues related to Jammu and Kashmir. There is no question of going with the BJP.”
According to the India TV-CVoter poll survey, Mehbooba Mufti-led People's Democratic Party (PDB) will emerge as the single largest party in Jammu & Kashmir, while the BJP may become the second largest party in the state.
The PDP is projected to win within a seat range of 28-34 seats in 87-member House whereas the BJP may get 24-30 seats,
The Chief Minister also made an appeal to voters to come out in large numbers and participate in the democratic process.
The second phase of five-phase polling in the state is slated for December. Counting of votes will take place on December 23.
An unprecedented 70 per cent voter turnout was witnessed in the first phase of elections on November 25.
