Jammu: BJP national president Amit Shah tonight reviewed the party's preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and exuded confidence of victory, saying the state's people wanted to get rid of the rule of dynastic parties here.

“The public in J&K is with (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi's development plank and want to get rid of the dynastic parties rule which have only promoted dynasties and few cronies,” Shah said tonight.

“The dynastic rule has also perpetuated corruption, nepotism and mal-administration. People want to have a public friendly and compassionate governance, which only BJP is capable of,” he said.

Shah, who arrived here this evening in connection with the Assembly elections, will address rallies in Banihal and Ramban tomorrow.

He held a meeting of election management committee, campaign committee, state election departments' in-charges and members at Hotel Ashok in Jammu to review the poll related preparations and work done by various party functionaries.

During the meeting, prominent politician from Akhnoor, Govind Ram Sharma, along with his son Suresh Sharma, joined BJP in the presence of Shah.

Union Health Minister J P Nadda, state election management campaign committee chairman and MoS in PMO Jitendra Singh, national general secretary (organisation) Ram Lal, state BJP president and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, leader of legislative party Ashok Khajuria, and national executive member Shamsher

Singh Manhas were among those present in the meeeting.

Shah expressed satisfaction over the briefing by various committees, but stressed for more persistent efforts, and called for “committed hard work” to ensure “Mission 44+”.
