Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das yesterday appealed to those people having deviated from the mainstream to return.
Das, who also announced setting up a Jain Pilgrimage Centre at Madhuban in Giridih district at a function there, said stringent action would be taken against those violating the democratic system.
The CM in this context praised the state's Director General of the Police D K Pandey for his leadership in the anti-Maoist operation and demanded police officials be honoured as the Army personnel.
Referring to the proposed Jain pilgrim centre at Madhuban, he said it would be among the international pilgrimage places within two years.
“Continuous work is on to make the centre to match international standard,” Das said.
“The state has got a stable government after 14 years. And Jharkhand will be among the developed states by 2019,” he claimed.
The CM said Madhuban would be turned an “Adarsh City” and repair of road works would begin soon. The government was also working on the development of other pilgrimage centres like Baijnath Temple in Deoghar and Chhinmastika Temple at Rajarappa in Ramgarh as development of tourist places would enable generation of employment, he said.
Das said for developing rural areas, schemes for village development would be prepared in the villages itself through meetings.
Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, Block Development Officer, social works and professors of respective districts would participate in such meeting to thrash out schemes, he said.
Such schemes drawn up in a particular month should be implemented in the following month, he said, adding legislators from the respective district would be consulted regarding the development works in the villages.
