Theni (TN): AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa has advised the party to set up “service centres” across the state to help people get the benefit of the government's various welfare schemes, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam said today.
The centres should be used to create awareness among people about the welfare schemes and guide all sections, irrespective of political affiliation, in getting the benefit, he said.
Jayalalithaa was committed to the welfare of the people and wanted the benefits to reach all people irrespective of party affiliation, he said here in his native district. Panneerselvam was speaking after distributing AIADMK's solatium of Rs three lakh to the families of three sympathisers who died unable to bear Jayalalithaa's conviction in the disproportionate assets case.
He handed over the solatium to the kin of the three persons in Kasilingapuram, Mayiladumparai and Mommaiyakoundanpatti.
