New Delhi, May 31: On Thursday afternoon, Congress party's heavyweight general secretary Janardan Dwivedi, considered close to the Gandhi household, came out with a terse statement.
Dwivedi said: "Whatever is happening in IPL has hurt the sentiments of crores of fans of cricket. We want a full probe and the guilty must be brought to the book. A system has to be put in place so that such incidents are not repeated."
This statement has been interpreted in Congress circles as a signal from party vice-president Rahul Gandhi which hints towards ouster of both BCCI chief N Srinivasan and IPL chief Rajeev Shukla .
A Kolkata daily today reported that Rajeev Shukla, currently Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, may be shown the door in the impending reshuffle of ministers at the Centre.
