16. Mayawati: She is the supremo of Bahujan Samaj Party and, under the tutelage of BSP founder late Kanshi Ram, has worked for the welfare of weaker sections of society- Dalits, OBC and other backward classes. She had served four terms as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh until she lost in 2012 Legislative Assembly elections.
