New Delhi: India attaches very high importance to the “time-tested” and special strategic partnership with Russia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said yesterday while receiving visiting Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin in New Delhi.
Rogozin is visiting India for the 20th round of India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission meeting that is co-chaired by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
During the meeting, Modi told Rogozin that India attaches “very high importance to the time-tested and the special and privileged Strategic Partnership with Russia”, a PMO statement said.
The Prime Minister also told Rogozin that he was looking forward to the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India in December 2014 for the Annual Summit.
“The visit would provide an opportunity to take forward the bilateral relations to a new level,” he said.
