Mahbubnagar (AP): Rahul Gandhi addressed a rally in Mahbubnagar , which now lies in the Telangana region on Monday. He reiterated his stand that Telangana could have never been formed had it not been for the Congress party and Sonia Gandhi's sincere effort. Rahul vouched that if Congress party forms the next government again there would be no poor person in Telangana who wouldn't have shelter.He said that rather than using commodities produced in China, the youth of Telangana would innovate and manufacture gadgets and goods made in the state itself. This would help Telangana develop and create a brand image.Rahul accused TRS of being hungry for power. He lashed out at the party, saying that it failed to fulfill any of its promises so far and would forget about its people too.Rahul: Congress has a major role to play in fulfilling your dream. This dream would have never been fulfilled without Congress party. Many people have sacrificed their life for this dream - teachers, lawyers, social activists.You have had a 60 year old dream (bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh). Now your dream is going to be fulfilled. We were able to achieve this through a proper democratic census. Two states are going to be made out of one on 2nd June. Congress will provide for the needs of both the states. We always do what we say.Rahul: I want to remind you of a few things - TDP had prevented Telangana from being formed. BJP also tried to prevent it. And when the bill was proposed, then we could not see TRS.Rahul: TRS makes promises. They even promised us. They said that they would form an alliance with us.TRS and its workers just want power. But if you have to make strong state then you need a far sighted government. Congress knows how to run a nation and state. They said that a dalit would be the first Chief Minister of Telangana. But after it was formed they forgot about the dalits CM and their promise to us. They will forget about you too. The truth is that without Sonia Gandhi Telangana would have never been formed.Rahul: BJP tries to make Hindus and Muslims fight. Telangana has always existed in peace. And if you want to be a great state then you will have to continue to spread brotherhood. We don't not want to practice politics of wrath. Social justice means that the weakest section of the society will be on top.Rahul: We will work with dedication and take your pleas to Delhi. I hope that one day everyone will be actively involved in development process. Lakhs of people will get employment. You can have small dreams or big dreams that are your choice. If you want big dreams to come true, then vote for Congress party. Small dreams are useless and waster of energy.Rahul: When someone purchases camera or phone abroad it will be written made in Telangana. Congress brought computers to India. Only Congress can fulfill your dreams. We are making industrial corridors, roads, railways. Only congress can do that.Rahul: You wear commodities that are made in China. Indians do not make them. They buy but not make. We hope for the day when commodities will be labeled as made in Telangana, made in India.Rahul: We will open 400 police stations for only women so that women feel secure. Some times back you requested that 9 gas cylinders were not enough then Sonia Gandhi agreed to give 12 cylinders.Rahul: Women are the strength of Telangana. We had proposed 33% reservation for women in parliament. Opposition prevented us. When we come to power again we will ensure that the bill is passed. Congress party stated the self help group in India. Its been extremely successful even in this belt.Rahul: We want poor people to think that they are also a part of this nation. A rich man has all amenities. Poor people lack that. We are going to provide housing facility to all the people. When Congress comes to power you will not come across any poor person in Telangana who does not have shelter. Earlier free medicines were given and lakhs of people benefited. We wanted to arrange ways through which medicines can be given every poor person across the nationRahul: We have also pulled 15 crore people out of poverty. This is the first time this has happened.How did this happen? We were able to achieve this by giving the right to all the people. Through MNREGA farmers have benefited. We introduced Right to education to poor children. In 2014, when we come back to power we will give you 3 more rights.Rahul: We have brought about most growth rate in India. We on the other hand want one India.Rahul: We want poor and rich people to be involved in the development of the state. They (BJP, TDP) want to make two Indias– one of rich and other of poor. Congress will provide education and employment to youth.If you elect Congress to power then we will work tirelessly for the development of Telangana and your state will greatly prosper. Benefit will not be confined to few. Farmers, dalits, minorities, everyone will prosper. Every community will feel that Telangana is theirs.
