Ranchi: Hemant Soren, the current Chief Minister of Jharkhand, has won from Barhet seat by defeating his nearest rival Hemlal Murmu of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader, however, is trailing from Dumka seat. BJP's Lois Marandi     is far ahead of Soren from here.

Ex-chief minister and BJP's Arjun Munda lost the from Kharasawan Assembly seat by over 12,000 votes.

Independent candidate and also the former CM Madhu Koda, who entered the fray from Majhgaon, lost the election to Niral Purty of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).

Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) president and former CM Babulal Marandi had contested from Dhanwar and Giridih. He has lost from both the constituencies.

The BJP is all set to form government in the state with party bagging 40 seats in the House of 81 members.
