New delhi, April 5: Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh today emphatically said that he would welcome Rahul Gandhi as prime ministery "any day".
Asked by mediapersons after the Padma awards investitute ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan, Dr Singh made this remark.
He was asked: "Do you welcome Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister?" Dr Singh: "Oh yes, any day."
The Prime Minister said the issue of two power centres at the Centre is a "useless debate". The controversy arose after Congress leader Digvijay Singh remarked that there were two power centres at the Centre, forcing another Congress general secretary Janardan Dwivedi to remark that there were no two power centres.
Asked whether he would continue as Pm for a third term, Dr Manmohan singh said, "this is a hypothetical question."
