Meerut, Apr 24 : Putting speculations to rest that Rajnath Singh will become the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh if BJP wins the next year Assembly polls, the senior party leader said anyone but him will take the post.
“Anyone but I will become the Chief Minister if BJP comes to power. Due to some announcements and promises I made in public meetings recently, people are speculating that I am the front runner, but let me make it clear, I am not in the race,” he said at a function here.
On the allegations against the Lokpal Bill draft committee members lawyers Shanti Bhushan and his son Prashant Bhushan, he said “let the committee draft the bill... it is not the right time to discuss who should be in panel and who should not.”
The former Chief Minister said the BJP will support the bill in the both the Houses of the parliament. PTI
