New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today came clean over the row created after he was seen hugging RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav during the swearing in ceremony of Nitish Kumar as Bihar CM last week.

“During Nitish Kumar's swearing in, Lalu Yadav was on the stage. He shook hand and pulled me and hugged me. And held my hand and raised it,” Kejriwal said in his address to the Aam Aadmi Party's national council meet here.

Reiterating his earlier stand on Lalu, Kejriwal said, “We are against his record of corruption and we'll always oppose it. We are against his dynasty politics; we have not formed an alliance.”

Kejriwal also expressed satisfaction that people asked questions as ‘they have pinned hope in him'.

Kejriwal also described the rise of AAP since its inception as ‘no less than miraculous'.

Lauding his govt's anti-corruption drive, Kejriwal said that there is no such instance in the past that a govt sacked its own minister found involved in corruption.

“We completed a fly over before the deadline. You would have heard of it. But what is different is, we saved 100 cr rupees on it. 247 cr rupees project was completed in 150 CR's,” he said.

The CM was talking about recently inaugurated Azadpur-Prembari Pul elevated corridor that decongest areas like Ashok Vihar, Shalimar Bagh and Wazirpur and allow unhindered traffic flow along the entire 44-km Ring Road. AAP government has completed the construction at an actual cost of Rs 147 crore as against a sanctioned outlay of Rs 247.17 crore.

Furthermore, Kejriwal expressed hope that Lokpal will be passed in the upcoming Winter Session of the Assembly.

“It's the same old bill minus citizen charter and vigilance,” he said.
