New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today briefed the Rajya Sabha on her recent visit to Pakistan.
Swaraj informed the Upper House that she raised 26/11 terror attacks with officials in Pakistan and asked them to expedite the trial.
"We raised the issue of Mumbai 26/11 attacks probe and asked Pakistan to expedite the trial process," she said.
On bilateral relations between the neighbouring nations, she said, "It has been decided to begin a dialogue with Pakistan under the new title Comprehensive Bilateral Dialogue."
"India hopes new dialogue with Pakistan marks a new beginning for peace and development in the region," she said.
"Kashmir is most affected by terrorism," she said, adding that "government accords highest priority to country's security and building an environment of peaceful, cooperative relations with neighbours including Pakistan."
She also informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Pakistan next year to attend the SAARC Summit.
Swaraj will brief the Lok Sabha on her Pakistan visit at 2 pm.
