Gandhinagar: Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi today celebrated Gujarati New Year by paying obeisance at Panchdevi temple and Bhadrakali temple here.
According to Hindu calendar, the new Vikram Samvat year begins today, and normally Gujaratis go to temples to offer prayers to begin the new year.
No oridnary visitor was stopped at both the temples as part of security drill.
Modi greeted the visitors with folded hands as he came out and wished all Gujaratis a happy New Year.
"I pray that the wishes of all be fulfilled", said Modi.
