Hyderabad: Hyderabad should be developed as a modern city of international standards without its historical landmarks being affected, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said today.

He made this statement during a meeting with noted architect Hafeez Contractor on the new constructions to be taken up in the capital city, a release from Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said here.

Rao suggested that a convention centre of global standards, to be named ‘Telangana Kala Bharati', be built opposite Indira Park in the heart of the city, it said.

He favoured improving the structures and areas around tourist attractions like Charminar, Hussain Sagar lake, Salar Jung museum, among others, the release said.

The Chief Minister wanted plans to be prepared for beautification of Musi river here and developing the famous Salar Jung museum at par with international standards.

Meanwhile, Rao today laid foundation stone for grand Banjara Bhavan and Komaram Bheem Adivasi Bhavan to be built in Banjara Hills area of the city.
