Ranchi: After he was left abashed by people's booing today during his speech in the presence of PM Modi, an angry Jharkhand Chief Minister has termed the incident as “rape of federal system”.

Addressing a public meeting in Ranchi in the presence of Modi, Hemant Soren, like his counterpart, Bhupinder Singh Hooda faced immense humiliation as the crowd began jeering at  him and cheering for Modi.

Narendra Modi, to his credit, tried to hush the crowd. The Prime Minister signaled them to stop booing Soren and the crowd complied immediately.

But the CM's anger ignited and he said, “Such incidents are against the spirit of the federal system. Whatever happened today is what I consider rape of the federal system”.

Maharashtra CM Chavan was booed at a public meeting in Solapaur a few days back where Prime Minister Narendra Modi had arrived to inaugurate a power transmission line.

Even Haryana Chief Minister B S Hooda had to face a hostile crowd when Modi was in Haryana to lay the foundation stone for a project.

Hooda was booed by the crowd who had ears only for their Prime Minister. While Hooda spoke from the dais at a stone- laying ceremony of a highway project at Kaithal on Tuesday, the crowd chanted Modi's name and jeered the Chief Minister.
