Fatehabad: Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today lashed out at the BJP government in the state for reversing the decisions taken by previous Congress regime and raising tax on diesel.

“It has been observed for the first time that the state government has reversed the decisions of previous regime. The superannuation age has been reduced and the pension amount has also been reduced,” Hooda said while talking to reporters here.

Haryana government had rollback the previous government's decision pertaining to retirement age by reducing it from 60 years to 58 years.

Hooda, who had come here to attend the marriage of Sandeep Bishnoi, son of former chief parliamentary secretary and HJC leader Dura Ram, also accused the Manohar Lal Khattar dispensation of misleading people by saying that the state was under heavy debt.

Terming the BJP government as anti-farmer, the Congress leader said the state government had raised VAT on diesel when the price of crude oil in international market was on decrease.

“BJP government is anti-farmer. This VAT should be withdrawn. Though I do not want to comment on Khattar's working but the decisions do not augur well with the people and the state,” he said.

The state government had also raised VAT on diesel from 9.24 per cent to 12.07 per cent.

To a query on Deras in the state, the former chief minister said, “none should take law into his hands. The violence and showdown at any stage should have been avoided.”
