Haryana Hikes Allowance For Freedom Fighters

Chandigarh, Aug 6: Haryana government today hiked “Samman Allowance” for freedom fighters of the state by Rs 4,000/- per month raising it to Rs 15,000.


The decision to hike the allowance was announced by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda while speaking at a felicitation function organised by All India Freedom Fighters and Successor Organization at Hisar.

Hooda said the hiked allowance would be paid from August 15 this year, an official release said here.  He said the state government had also decided that a doctor would visit every month the house of each freedom fighter for their medical checkup.

Instructions to this effect have been given to all Deputy Commissioners and the district administration would make all arrangements for medical treatment of freedom fighters in hospitals, he added. PTI
