Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel yesterday nominated nine eminent personalities in the state to participate in the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'. Spiritual leaders Rameshbhai Oza, Kankeshwari Devi, lawyer Sudhir Nanavati, tax consultant Mukesh Patel, cricketer Irfan Pathan, woman shooter Lajja Goswami, Gujarati folk singer Bhikudan Gadhvi, Amitabh Bhatnagar and Tejal Amin have been nominated by Patel for the mission.
"I am very happy to invite these nine prominent persons of the various fields to be the leaders of 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan," Patel said.
I am confident that with support and cooperation from these leaders, we would surely fulfil the dream of Swachh Gujarat, she added.
'Swach Bharat Abhiyaan' was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 aiming cleaning up India and improving sanitation facilities.
