“RSS will take credit only for raising the poll percentage over 10 per cent which was due to its public awareness programme. Now, the country has got an inspirational leadership with total majority to run an effective government. Its upto the public to regularly monitor Modi sarkar. RSS is going back to work for the society and people,” he said.
Modi's close aide Amit Shah had spent nearly two hours at Keshav Kunj yesterday. Shah, along with some other BJP leaders, had a meeting with Modi at Gujarat Bhavan.
Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and MP from Jhansi Uma Bharti and former Chief Minister of Karnataka B S Yeddyurappa had also visited the RSS headquarters.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Murli Manohar Joshi and Smriti Irani had also visited the RSS headquarters.
Naidu also rubbished speculation in the media about the possible role the RSS is playing ahead of government formation.
“This is the task of the BJP and its leadership is competent enough to take its decisions after consultations amongst themselves,” the BJP leader said while refusing to entertain any further questions on Cabinet formation.
When asked if there is any dissension on the part of BJP patriarch L K Advani, stalwarts Murli Manohar Joshi and Sushma Swaraj, the RSS spokesperson said, “There is no dissension. It might be in the media, I do not have any such information”.
His comments came in the midst of a flurry of meetings between top BJP and RSS leaders ahead of Tuesday's BJP parliamentary party meeting in which Modi is slated to be named its leader before he takes oath as Prime Minister.
There is speculation that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) influence will be reflected in the formation of the new Modi government.
‘Keshav Kunj', the RSS office here, was abuzz with activity as BJP leaders visited it in the run-up to government formation.
Senior party leader Kalraj Mishra and Delhi BJP chief Harsh Vardhan were among the leaders, who met the RSS leadership this morning.
Madhav said, “This is common cause of concern for people specially the Congress who want to know what would RSS do next? The same question (as to who was controlling him?) was posed to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, to which the former prime minister replied saying he himself was a direct remote control”.
