New Delhi: Blaming the opposition for not allowing the parliament to function, Minister of State V. Narayanasamy today said that as far sa the government is concerned, it is taking "sincere steps" to pass the Lokpal Bill.
"The government is taking all sincere steps to pass the Lokpal bill. I have given a notice to the chairman of the Rajya Sabha for taking up the bill... The government is ready to debate and discuss it," the minister in the Prime Minister's Office said.
"But the house has to run (for passing the bill) because unfortunately the opposition parties are stalling the proceedings," he said.
