New Delhi: The NDA government has roped in Bollywood Mega star Amitabh Bachchan for an ad film that stresses the need to rise above religion and caste for inclusive development of the country.

The film is said to be an innovative thought of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who personally called up the super star who is also the brand ambassador of Gujarat State to do the film.

The ad is likely to be aired before Republic Day. In the advertisement, Bachchan will be seen talking about India's diversity and culture while flying a kite.

“But does education have any caste? Does development have any religion? Does progress belong to any particular sect?” asks Bachchan in the commercial.

The entire thought behind the Ad film is to focus on ‘Good governance' agenda of Modi. He along with the finance minister Arun Jaitley is expected to be seen in the advertisements, delivering an inspirational message to the citizens of the country.

In addition to the ad-film, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Minister of State for Minority Affairs, will tour those parts of the country which have a high minority population.

Naqvi will be in Kerala from January 2 to 3 to initiate a direct communication with the Christian community which has been at the receiving end of the anti-conversion rhetoric of RSS and its affiliates. Naqvi plans to cover at least 60-70 per cent states before the Budget Session of Parliament begins.

“It is true that there are misgivings among minority communities about this government. Their confidence has to be won. That will not happen sitting inside the office, it will only happen when you go to them in the field. That is why I have decided to go back to the field — not as a minister but as a political and social activist — to look at how schemes are being implemented on the ground,” Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told The Indian Express.
