New Delhi, July 23: BJP President Nitin Gadkari today constituted a Policy Formulation Action Group (PFAG) under the convenorship of former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha to bring about more coherence and clarity in the party's stand on various economic and political issues.

The announcement about PFAG comes against the backdrop of the government decision to allow 100 per cent FDI in multi-brand retail which would affect the small traders that form the backbone of BJP's support base.

Gadkari himself will be a part of the 21-member body, along with senior leaders L K Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Murli Manohar Joshi, Jaswant Singh, M Venkaiah Naidu, Ananth Kumar, Bal Apte, Rajnath Singh, Gopinath Munde, S S Ahluwalia, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Narendra Singh Tomar, Dharmendra Pradhan, Prakash Javadekar, Jagat Prakash Nadda, Bhupendra Yadav, Balbir Punj and Vinay Sahasrabuddhe.

Sinha, who is also the chairperson of Parliament's Standing Committee on Finance, will be the convenor of this group.

The inclusion of Munde in the group has come as a surprise for some as a month ago he was sulking due to removal of some leaders close to him by Gadkari from various posts in the party's Maharashtra unit. It had even led to speculation about resignation of Munde, the BJP's Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha, from the party. PTI
