Kolkata: After inducting former IPS officer Kiran Bedi into the party on the eve of Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP is trying to spring another surprise, this time in West Bengal.
The BJP is reportedly wooing Sourav Ganguly, former captain of Indian cricket team, and wants him to join the party before 2016 Assembly elections in the state.
“We are talking to many people who are public figures and Sourav Ganguly is one of them. If everything goes well then he may join the party,” a BJP source told India TV.
Sourav Ganguly, one of India's highly successful cricket captains, represented India in 113 Test matches and 311 One Day Internationals (ODI).
