New Delhi: The recently concluded Delhi assembly poll has become historic in terms of Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party making a stunning comeback by winning an unprecedented nine-tenths majority of 67 in the 70-seat Delhi assembly.
Another highlight is that the AAP has a huge number of young members - 28 members of AAP are aged 40 years or below - which makes Delhi emerge as the youngest assembly in the nation.
46-year-old Arvind Kejriwal is one of the youngest chief ministers in the history of Delhi. However, in the national context Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis are younger to him.
The two youngest MLAs to won the recent Delhi elections are also from AAP: Rituraj from Debli constituency and Prakash from Kirari. Both of them are just 26 years old. The oldest candidate to reach the Delhi Assembly is Ram Niwas Goyal who is aged 67 and has won the Shahadra seat from AAP ticket.
The newly elected MLAs are also the most qualified politicians as a total of 46 of them are having a post graduate degree. Kejriwal himself has got a B-Tech Degree. Some of the MLAs are having post graduate diploma while around 20 MLAs are graduate.
