New Delhi: Love stories of some couples are remembered for their intense and passionate liking for each other whereas a few love stories are best remembered for the enigma attached to it.Politicians seldom give precedence to their heart over mind. So when the then Haryana Deputy CM Chander Mohan announced that he was deeply in love with Anuradha Bali who was a former Assistant Advocate General of Haryana and that he has married her after converting to Islam , it came as a big shock.Was Chander Mohan truly in love with Anuradha Bali or it was just physical lust that drove him to disown his wife and family? It still remains a mystery.Chander Mohan, son of former Haryana CM Bhajan Lal, was happily discharging duties as the Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana.All of a sudden, he stopped attending office in November 2008. In fact he was dismissed from the State Cabinet for his prolonged absence from the office.On January 11, 2009, he appeared before media with Anuradha Bali.He informed the media that he had married Anuradha after both of them converted to Islam.He had adopted a new name ‘Chand Mohammad' while Anuradha had changed her name to ‘Fiza'.Even for Anuradha, it was a second marriage. She married to a small time transporter in 1995 but got separated from her husband within one year of marriage.But this love story had many twists and turns in store.Within a fortnight of this announcement, Chander Mohan deserted Anuradha and went back to her first wife and family. He also reconverted to Hinduism at a Bishnoi temple.A shattered Anuradha alleged that Chander Mhan's brother and family were presuurising him to walk out of this marriage. On the other hand, Chander Mohan claimed that he still loved his first wife and his children and wanted to reunite with them.An angry Anuradha filed criminal charges against Chander Mohan accusing him of rape and mental harassment.On March 14, 2009, Chander Mohan divorced Anuradha alias Fiza.A frustrated Fiza attempted suicide on June 29, 2009 and 33 sleeping pills were recovered from her room. She campaigned against Bhajan Lal and Chander Mohan's brother Kuldeep Bishnoi in 2009 assembly elections.She also appeared in reality show' Big Boss' in 2010 but was eliminated in the sixth week.In 2012, she was arrested thrice in criminal cases lodged against her by her neighbors. She was heard as planning to join politics and claimed that she had good offer from BSP.On July 25, 2012, she celebrated her 41st birthday but the very next month , on 6th of August, she was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her house in Mohali.The sequence of events give an impression that Anuradha Bali alias Fiza was perhaps deeply and truly in love with Chander Mohan alias Chand Mohammad but the same can't be said of Chander Mohan who changed his stand every now and then. Was it just the physical lust that led Chander Mohan to first marry and then dump Anradha? The last word is yet to be heard.
