Mumbai, March 20: The Maharashtra assembly today suspended five MLAs for beating up a traffic assistant police inspector Sachin Suryavanshi inside the assembly premises on Tuesday.




The MLAs are : Kshitij Thakur, Bahujan Vikas Aghadi member from Nalasopara, Ram Kadam, MNS member from Ghatkopar West, Rajan Salvi, Shiv Sena member from Rajapur, Pradip Jaiswal, Shiv Sena supporter Independent from Aurangabad, and Jaikumar Rawal, BJP MLA from Sindakheda, Dhule district.

Suryavanshi is presently undergoing treatment in a Mumbai hospital.

Home Minister R R Patil met Suryavanshi met Suryavanshi in hospital today and assured him of stringent action against the legislators who beat him up.
