Patna: Former Bihar parliamentarian Mohammad Shahabuddin was on Thursday shifted to Bhagalpur jail from Siwan prison after complaints that he was managing his wife's poll campaign and threatening political rivals on a mobile phone, an official said.
"After complaints by the BJP and other political parties that Shahabuddin was using a mobile phone to threaten his rivals and managing his wife's campaign, the district administration shifted him to Bhagalpur jail," a police official said.

"He was shifted to ensure free and fair elections in Siwan," the official added.
