Harsimrat Kaur Badal: Diploma in Textile Design


Harsimrat Kaur Badal has been inducted into Narendra Modi's council of ministers as the cabinet minister for food processing industries.

Harsimrat has been elected from Bathinda Lok Sabha seat on Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) ticket in 2014 parliamentary elections.

Harsimrat Kaur badal is the wife of Punjab deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and hence the daughter-in-law of Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal.

Harsimrat was born to Satyajit and Sukhmanjus Majithiahas  in Delhi on July 25, 1966  .

After completing her matriculation, she did her diploma in textile design.

Harsimrat was married to Sukhbir Singh Badal on November 21, 1991. Harsimart's brother Bikram Singh Majithia is an Akali MLA from Majitha assembly constituency.'

Harsimrat and Sukhbir are blessed with two daughters and a son.

Harsimrat entered electoral politics in 2009 when she contested from Bathinda Lok Saha constituency on SAD ticket and defeated the Congress candidate Raninder Singh by 120960 votes.

Harsimrat also runs a project named "Nanhi Chhan", a movement to save girl child and trees.
