New Delhi: The Election Commission, waking up from it slumber eight days after Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi made his controversial speech, on Friday night issued a show cause notice to the Gandhi scion for violation of electoral model code of conduct. Rahul Gandhi has been asked to reply by Monday November 4.
Rahul Gandhi, in his speeches in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, had accused the BJP of inciting communal violence in Muzaffarnagar, UP. He had also claimed that an intelligence officer told him that Pakistan's spy agency ISI was in touch with riot-hit Muslim youths in Muzaffarnagar.
