Ranchi: Election Commission has banned the publication and dissemination of exit polls of any kind in poll-bound Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir.
"The publication and dissemination of exit polls of any kind in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir have been banned," Chief Election Commissioner of Jharkhand PK Jajoria, said while quoting a statement of ECI here today.
Polling for the first phase of five-phased assembly elections in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir is underway. The remaining phases of polling will take place on December 2, December 9, December 14 and December 20.
Counting of votes in both states is slated for December 23.
