Saifai: Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav took a dig at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and his new relative Lalu Prasad Yadav saying his dream of becoming the Prime Minister remained unfulfilled and the person who beame the stumbling block has now become his relative.
“Dream of becoming Prime Minister remained unfulfilled and this was because of such people who have now become my relative,” he said in an apparent reference to Lalu.
Days after the RJD chief joined other political outfits accepting Mulayam as the head of the ‘Janata Parivar' to counter the BJP and Congress, the two powerful Yadav leaders took a step towards becoming family.
Lalu along with his family was in Lucknow on December 7 for the shagun ceremony for his youngest daughter's wedding with the Samajwadi Party chief's grandnephew.
Raj Lakshmi and Tej Pratap are all set to tie the knot in February next year.
Tej Pratap (27) successfully contested bypolls from Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency, a seat that Mulayam vacated after winning Azamgarh as well in the general elections.
Raj Lakshmi, 24, is the only one of Lalu's nine children to be born after he became chief minister in March 1990. Raj Lakshmi is a management student at Amity University in Noida.
