New Delhi: Social activist Anna Hazare today congratulated Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on trends projecting his party's landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly election.
He said, “Arvind Kejriwal is going to become Chief Minister. My best wishes to him.”
When asked about results as reflection of the Narendra Modi government's performance, he said, "There was no Modi wave and still there is no such wave. Whatever he has assured, his government failed to fulfil in nine months.”
The counting of votes to elect new 70-member Delhi Assembly is underway at 14 centres in nine districts of the national capital.
AAP is leading on 45 seats while BJP was a distant second with leads in 12 seats. The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements for the counting of votes.
A voter turnout of 67.08 percent was recorded in February 7 polling.
