Lucknow: Maverick Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan today congratulated Aam Aadmi Party on its landslide victory in Delhi and said, "in today's circumstances, Delhi's mandate is India's mandate".
In a statement, Azam Khan said, "Delhi encompassed almost the entire nation, where people from every state and class reside."
"The people of Delhi have shown the mirror to those who insulted women on the issue of offsprings, and denigrated religions, apart from trying to change the definition of Indian Constitution. This mandate has assuaged the hurt feelings of Muslims who did not support the Partition of 1947", he said.
"We are one family, and any discrimination on grounds of hate, anarchy and religious differences is unacceptable. The people of Delhi have proved this beyond doubt through their mandate", Azam Khan said.
