New Delhi: The Congress demanded on Tuesday that Delhi Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar be sacked immediately.
Congress leader Ajay Maken said on Twitter: "AAP Delhi law minister's law degree found fake. Should be sacked immediately and vacate assembly seat for fresh election!"
The comments came after a Bihar-based university from where Tomar claimed to have obtained his degree, on Monday told the Delhi High Court that the provisional certificate was not "genuine" and "does not exist in the university's record".
The serial number of the certificate in the record showed the name of some other person and not of Tomar, according to the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, Bihar.
The university's response came on a plea against Tomar which alleged that he enrolled himself as an advocate on the basis of a "fake and bogus" graduation degree.
Maken questioned: "Will (Arvind) Kejriwal apologise again/take moral responsibility and step down?"
A demonstration would be held at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's office on April 30, he said.
Tomar also holds the portfolios of tourism, art and culture, as well as home.
