Delhi govt defies Lokayukta, refuses to send report on Sheila Dikshit to President

New Delhi, Dec 12: Delhi government has turned down Delhi Lokayukta's request to send its report against Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to the President for review of an earlier decision in a case relating to

In a special report, the Lokayukta had requested the government to send his report again to the President for review of the earlier decision or table it on the floor of Delhi Assembly.

"The matter has been re-examined by the Government of Delhi and it has been decided that there is no need to resubmit this matter to the President of India for reconsideration in view of the decision already taken by the President of India," the government said in the action-taken report.

The Lokayukta had said Dikshit's "misrepresentation" of facts was contained in a message of her in a booklet which was part registration form for allotment of flats to the urban poor and slum dwellers.
