New Delhi: Slamming the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party, Congress today said both these parties did nothing for common people and will highlight all their failures in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
“In the last six months, BJP-led Central government have done anti-people work, including the demolition of houses in Rangpuri slum cluster. Similar, AAP is also claiming that they provided 700 l free water and cheap electricity, but the real fact is that they completely failed on these two issues,” DPCC chief Arvinder Singh said here. Singh said that Congress has made a strategy to seek the reply of what they have done for people from these two parties in Assembly polls.
Lashing out at former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, the DPCC president said, “They (AAP) have promised to build 20 new colleges of the Delhi University. “Kejriwal perhaps doesn't know that DU and its Standing Committee have already said that new colleges can not be affiliated to the university following which Congress government had built Ambedkar University. AAP is spreading lies about this issue.”
The Congress leader also came down heavily on all the three BJP-led municipal corporations. “In the last 8 years of BJP-led MCD, we all know how much work they have done. They are not ruling for the people of Delhi. Congress will expose the lies of BJP and AAP in the upcoming Assembly polls,” he added. Meanwhile, BSP leader Shakeel Saifi, a film distributor who had unsuccessfully contested Lok Sabha elections against Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit from East Delhi seat, today joined the Congress.
Bolloywood Actor Ranjeet, who visited DPCC office here, congratulated Saifi on his joining the Congress. “I am not new to Congress. I have been with it for several year and I will do a lot of work to strengthen the Congress and will ensure the victory for the party with the support of Delhiites in Assembly elections,” Saifi said.
