New Delhi: Very soon, the office of newly appointed chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal will see some sector-specific-experts acting as the nerve-centre of the state government.
Quite similar to Modi's PMO at the centre, the experts can be roped in from both among its rank members or from outside the party. They will be appointed to plan and implement AAP's 70-point agenda for Delhi.
, “PMO is certainly not our model. But it is true that CMO will be sort of an overarching body, where sector-specific experts will be appointed who will think about how to implement the manifesto. Delhi is not a full state, so whatever substantive initiatives taken by the state government would be through CMO, ” The Economic Times quoted a source in its report.
Unlike last time, there will be more advisors in the CMO this time, although Nagendra Sharma has already been appointed as the media adviser.
As quoted by the daily, an AAP leader said that the party could add more people in positions of power with a few sector-specific experts from its MLAs being given the rank of “parliamentary secretary”.
The name which is most talked about in this context is that of ex-Apple employee and Lal Bahadur Shastri's grandson Adarsh Shastri who will oversee the implementation of free Wi-Fi plan for Delhi's public places.
Some more experts are expected to be brought on board for women and power specidic issues as Kejriwal was reportedly, unhappy with technical preparations of the bureaucrats when he took on the discoms during his previous 49-day regime.
