New Delhi: With Centre recommending dissolution of Delhi Assembly with immediate effect, BJP in the national capital today held a meeting to take stock of preparations for the elections, which are likely to be held early next year.

Delhi BJP in-charge Prabhat Jha and state party chief Satish Upadhyay along with MPs Meenakshi Lekhi (New Delhi) and Ramesh Bidhuri (South Delhi) discussed various plans for the polls.

Exuding confidence of coming out victorious, Upadhyay said the party would emphasise on using social media to reach out to youths to ramp up efforts to increase the party's support base.

“We today discussed party's preparations for Assembly polls. In the meeting, we also discussed how party will use media, digital media, print media and social media. The issues, which were discussed include booth management, poll agenda,” Upadhyay told reporters here.

“Election will see a contest between BJP and entire opposition and not with any particular party. The people of Delhi had opted for a new experiment in the last elections but the convener of AAP, Arvind Kejriwal betrayed the people of Delhi. The people of Delhi will take him to task for this betrayal through the ballot,” Upadhyay said.

Ending months of uncertainty, the Centre today recommended dissolution of the Delhi Assembly with immediate effect after BJP, AAP and Congress expressed their inability to form a government, paving way for Assembly elections early next year.  Party sources said that the five other MPs from Delhi were not invited for the meeting.
