New Delhi: The Delhi assembly will look somewhat different this time with so many new faces and interesting facts. It will be the first time when the number of opposition MLAs has been restricted to just three.
Strikingly, the Delhi assembly will have more than two dozen professionals-turned politicians as its members.
There will be lawyers, engineers, colonel, commandos and doctors in the assembly who are well-established professionals in their respective fields. Most of the professionals are from law background.
There are also few members who are the passed out students from prestigious engineering institution IIT. The CM designate Arvind Kejriwal is himself a graduate from IIT Kharagpur. He had worked in Indian Revenue Service before turning to social activism and subsequently politics.
Malviya Nagar MLA and ex-minister Somnath Bharti is also an IITan who later ventured into law. Saurabh Bhardwaj, who defeated Prsident's daugheter Sharmistha Mukherjee is also an engineer.
Ex-apple executive and Lal Bahadur Shastri's grandson Adarsh Shastri is a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and was sales head of Apple India before he quit to join Aam Aadmi Party.
Laxmi Nagar MLA Nitin Tyagi has a post graduate degree in business management. AAP MLA from Kirari is a diploma holder in hotel management from Australia.
The assembly also has few members with extremely humble backgrounds. Jangpura MLA Praveen Kumar's father has puncture shop in his home town near Bhopal.
