New Delhi: Coming out in support of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that his 'colleague will come through with flying colours' from the DDCA controversy.
"Arun Jaitley will come through with flying colours in the same way as LK Advani did in Hawala case. Same thing is going to happen with regard to the allegations of Arun Jaitley because they (Congress) want to cover up their own failures and scams," Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu quoted Modi as saying at the BJP Parliamentary Party meet.
Criticising the Congress for defaming NDA leaders and government ministers, Naidu said, "They (Congress) tried the same with Sushmaji, Vasundharaji and Shivrajji, they only want to defame the government."

Another Union Minister and senior BJP leader, Ravi Shankar Prasad, said, "Arunji is a great example of transparency & honesty. Congress is wound up over National Herald, so they are trying to divert attention. Such tactics coming from Congress are really shameful."
Yesterday, Jaitley filed a defamation suit against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and sought Rs 10 crore in damages for accusing him of corruption when he headed Delhi's cricket board, Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).
The Congress party has been disrupting the proceeding so of the Parliament over its demands of Jailey's resignation and a JPC probe into the matter.
Meanwhile, there are reports that the party may take action against its rebel MP Kirti Azad, who has targeted Arun Jaitley for his alleged role in DDCA scam.
Speaking to media, BJP leader Siddharth Nath today said that the party is of the view that action should be taken against Azad for embarrassing it in connection with the case.
"Party democracy doesn't give you the right to slander and then get prodded by the opposition in Parliament. And then, you embarrass the government in Parliament. Through tweets, you provoke the leader and this entire episode amounts to gross indiscipline," Singh said.
If reports are to be believed, the party, after the completion of ongoing Winter Session of the Parliament, may issue a show cause notice to Azad asking him to explain his ongoing tirade against his own party leader.
