New Delhi, April 22: Disruptions by various parties on human rights violations in West Bengal and the Telangana issue led to the Lok Sabha being adjourned till 12 noon Monday, day one of the second half of the budget session.




As the house assembled after a month-long recess, Speaker Meira Kumar led the lower house in paying tributes to the late British prime minister Margaret Thatcher and victims of the April 4 building collapse in Thane, Maharashtra. Seventy-four people were killed in the tragedy.

Soon after that, members of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) gathered near the the speaker's podium, shouting slogans against the West Bengal government and holding up placards like "Stop human rights violation in West Bengal".

Members of parties from Andhra Pradesh also rose and demanded introduction of the Telangana Bill in this session.

Following this, the speaker adjourned the house till 12 noon.
