Chennai: With a special court in Bangalore set to pronounce the verdict in the 18-year-old disproportionate assets case against her, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is making preparations to present herself before it on Saturday.

Jayalalithaa and her aide Sasikala are expected to reach Bangalore HAL airport before 9 am on Saturday by a special aircraft, which will leave Chennai by about 0800 hours.

From the airport, she will reach the makeshift court at the Parappana Agrahara prisons complex by helicopter.

A majority of Jayalalithaa's ministerial colleagues has already left for Bangalore on Friday and some more would fly on Saturday morning, AIADMK sources said.

Chennai Mayor Saidai Duraisamy is scheduled to take an early morning flight tomorrow to Bangalore and the mayors of several other corporations are on their way to the Karnataka capital.

Sources said the party workers, who are hoping that ‘truth will prevail' and their party chief will be exonerated, have already stored fire crackers and ordered sweets for distribution.

Meanwhile, the DMK camp, which vigorously pursued the case and had led political campaigns based on it, is anxiously awaiting the verdict as the outcome will have tremendous significance for the state's political scenario.

Police said they were keeping a watch on the situation that was likely to emerge in the aftermath of the court delivering the verdict, but has not decided on scaling up security measures on Saturday.
