A day after BJP raked up the controversial issue of building a Ram temple in Ayodhya, Congress on Friday said consensus among the stakeholders and court approval is required.
"Until and unless there is a consensus among all stakeholders coupled with the approval of the court as it is a subjudice matter, there can be no finalisation," party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters in Delhi.
He said that at the moment, there was neither a consensus not a court decision. BJP President Nitin Gadkari yesterday expressed the commitment of the party of building a "grand" Ram temple in Ayodhya and appealed to the Muslims to "offer a perfect solution" by being generous toward the sentiments of Hindus. "The BJP stands fully committed for the construction of a grand Ram temple at Ayodhya..." Gadkari had said. PTI
