Lucknow, July 9: BSP today accused Congress of turning a blind eye towards crimes in Congress-ruled states while rushing its top leaders and office-bearers of various national commissions to Uttar Pradesh even in the event of “minor” cases.

Pointing to alleged rape of two school students in Vikaspuri area of Delhi, BSP spokesman here charged similar rape cases in Congress-ruled Maharashtra and Haryana among others have proved that there was no law and order in these states.

Citing two alleged rape cases in Beed and Akola districts in Maharashtra, the spokesman said Congress leaders have not uttered a single word on these.

“Congress is unable to see criminal incidents taking place in Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra whereas in Uttar Pradesh it immediately sends its senior leaders and office-bearers of various national commissions even in the event of minor crimes, thereby making a mountain out of a molehill”, the spokesman said.

“People want a reply why the constitutional Commissions, which have remained so active in Uttar Pradesh, maintained a silence over even the most serious of crimes in Congress-ruled states”, the BSP spokesman said and asked why National Women's Commission, National Human Rights Commission and National Commission for Scheduled Castes have not visited these states.

The spokesmsn said the BSP government has taken strict action in all the cases which have come to light and sent its own MPs, MLAs and ministers to jail as it has never compromised on the law and order issue. PTI
