New Delhi: Congress today attacked yoga guru Ramdev over his remarks that a lot of lobbying takes place for Padma awards, and said his comments reflects "his school of thought".
"This is yet another comment he has made to indicate exactly which school of thought he has come from and what the standards in public life are..." Congress spokesperson Brijesh Kalappa said.
Underscoring that some outstanding names are in the list of Padma Awards, Kalappa said that allegations of the award being vitiated by lobbying was not accurate.
Meanwhile, BJP national spokesperson Nalin Kohli said that it is not a matter to be politicised. Ramdev, who had declined Padma Vibhushan award, today alleged that a lot of lobbying takes place for Padma awards and even Nobel prize and those with political influence succeed.
"The entire world knows that all these awards like Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan or Padma Vibhushan and even Nobel prize are given to good people also, but there is intense lobbying and those having more political influence succeed in getting them," the Yoga guru alleged here.
