New Delhi, Sep 7: Congress today steered clear of questions whether the Delhi blast was a result of intelligence failure or lack of preparedness saying this should be asked from the Home Ministry.
“Home Ministry can give a better reply to this question...this question should be asked from Home Ministry,” was the refrain of party spokesperson Rashid Alvi when asked whether the incident occurred due to intelligence failure and why the CCTV cameras were not working there.
He also dismissed questions on whether Home Minister P Chidambaram should resign after the blast saying “this does not seem very appropriate in this situation.” Alvi said that he does not agree with the contentions that the government did not take adequate steps to tackle terror.
“Government has taken many significant steps. There is no lack in the government's efforts but whatever incidents are happening are unfortunate...If needed Government will take more efforts. Such incidents do not affect one party or government but the entire nation...it's a time of crisis,” he said. PTI
