New Delhi, Feb 1: Former union minister Ambika Soni will head the Congress party's panel on poll reforms, especially political funding, set up by party chief Sonia Gandhi Thursday.
"The Congress president has set up the poll reforms panel announced in the Jaipur declaration...It will give suggestions for action plan," Congress general secretary Janardan Dwivedi told reporters.
Besides Soni, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister M. Veerappa Moily, former chief election commissioner and union minister M.S. Gill, Rajya Sabha member Mani Shankar Aiyar, and senior leaders E.M.S. Nachiappan and Mohan Gopal would be in the six member panel.
Gandhi had announced setting up of the panel at the All India Congress Committee meeting on the concluding day of the 'Chintan Shivir' or introspection meet in Jaipur Jan 18-20.
"Various suggestions are being debated in government and non-government forums. We need to implement them. The party group will suggest an action plan," she had said.
