New Delhi: Hitting out at the Aam Aadmi Party government, Congress today accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of “duping” the guest teachers of government schools and said that he should regularise their services immediately.

Party alleged that government has been totally ignoring the teachers who have been sitting on dharna for the past 11 days in front of the Old Secretariat.

“Kejriwal had told a lie to the teachers that he had signed on the file for regularizing the services of the guest teachers during his 49-day rule, but before the order could be implemented, he resigned.

“AAP has also put in its website that Kejriwal had signed on the file, but we wonder what happened to that file now,” DPCC chief spokesperson Sharmishta Mukherjee told reporters here.

She said that water canons were used on guest teachers today, who were just sitting on dharna peacefully, and in this incident, two teachers have suffered serious injuries.  Congress demands that service of guest teachers be regularised immediately, she said.

“During Assembly poll, Kejriwal made false promises to the teachers and asked them to canvass for him, but after returning to power, he has totally ignored the teachers' demand,” Mukherjee said.

She said that if the demands of the teacher were not met, Congress would launch a series of protests against the government.
